In 1906, Marshall B. Lloyd opened the doors of the Lloyd Manufacturing Company in Menominee, Michigan. Lloyd began by specializing in fine wicker baby buggies and children's furniture. Through his perseverance Lloyd improved the quality of wicker production and was rewarded in 1917 with a patent for the Lloyd Loom. This revolutionary wicker weaving process raised the standards of the wicker industry and remains unparalleled even to this day.
